The Rural Economic Development Toolkit is a great tool to help ramp up economic development efforts or launch an economic development advisory committee in your community.
The RMA’s Rural Economic Development Toolkit is now live! The toolkit includes practical guidance and tools for:
- Aligning on the role of economic development
- Identifying prospective partners
- Structuring committees or partnership commitments
- Crafting a compelling economic narrative
- Mobilizing committee members
- Monitoring impact & evaluating outcomes
RMA is officially launching the toolkit at the 2025 Spring Convention. We encourage all attendees to join one of the “Building Strong Communities: RMA’s Rural Economic Development Committee Toolkit” workshops to:
- Gain an overview of the toolkit’s six key focus areas
- Hear from municipal leaders who will share their experiences using the toolkit
- Participate in an engaging discussion on leveraging economic development partnerships in your community
RMA will also be hosting 3 virtual workshops throughout the spring to share components of the toolkit and facilitate discussion among municipal economic development leaders:
- Rural Economic Development 101: April 15 at 1:00pm.
- Economic Development Committees: April 29 at 1:00pm.
- Narrative Building & Business Cases: May 13 at 11:00am.
