Wind Energy Resources for Alberta Municipalities

Community involvement in wind energy projects is critical to successful collaborative relationships and economic development. The wind industry has recognized that effective community engagement is hard word and there are no shortcuts.

To facilitate this stronger community engagement and involvement in wind energy projects, the Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA) has recently released its Best Practices for Indigenous and Public Engagement which guides the wind industry  on consultation, engagement and communication with stakeholders and Indigenous communities. This document was written, in part, as a useful resource for municipal leaders as they navigate municipal and provincial permitting and consultation processes.

CanWEA is inviting you to review the Best Practices for Indigenous and Public Engagement and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact Evan Wilson at 587-316-8855 or evanwilson@canwea.ca, or visit canwea.ca for more information.
