The Watershed Resiliency and Restoration Program (WRRP) is entering its 6th round of grant applications.
The WRRP was established in 2014, in recognition of the importance of improving natural watershed functions to build long-term resiliency for flood and drought. The funding program aims to improve natural watershed functions and engaging Albertans in the conservation, restoration, enhancement and stewardship of critical watershed features including wetlands, riparian areas, and floodplains.
Applications are due by the end of day October 30th, 2018 to be considered for funding in the 2019-2020 fiscal year. For information on how to apply, please click here.
A total of $32.5 million in grant funding will be awarded under the program to external partners working to improve Alberta’s natural watershed resiliency.
Existing projects are located throughout Alberta in WRRP priority watersheds. Priority areas are based on indicators of watershed resilience, consequence and hazard. To view the “Priority Areas Maps and Summary Report” online, click here and to view the most recent WRRP progress report, click here.
