Municipal elections in Alberta will be taking place on October 16, 2017. Choosing whether to run for council is a big decision, and the process after that decision is made can be similarly challenging.
For this reason, the AAMDC has provided election information on their website for use by both incumbent elected officials and those running for the first time. The page includes a link to Alberta Municipal Affairs’ elections page which includes valuable information on election procedures, a candidate’s guide to running for municipal office, and a guide targeted specifically for women interested in running for municipal office.
The AAMDC also facilitates the ordering of ballot boxes and voting screens through their partnership with Instabox. The deadline for orders is September 1, 2017. To learn more, click here.
