ISED Canada is seeking input on connectivity grants as well as information on rural internet speeds
Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) is seeking input on the Universal Broadband Fund (UBF). The UBF is being developed as part of the Government of Canada’s Connectivity Strategy, which seeks to provide all Canadians with access to highspeed internet (50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload) by 2030. The UBF is being designed to support broadband access in rural and remote areas, which are areas of importance for RMA members.
ISED is seeking feedback from multiple stakeholders, including municipalities. Those interested in participating can:
- Complete a short survey
- Verify the coverage information on a National Broadband Map
- Upload their internet speed to help build a national database
