The deadline to apply to participate in a free asset management capacity-building cohort is July 31
RMA, in collaboration with the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (AUMA) and Infrastructure Asset Management Alberta (IAMA), have received funding under the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) Municipal Asset Management Program (MAMP) to develop and deliver group learning cohorts in which participants will work together to build their asset management capacity.
This round of programming will build on cohorts delivered successfully in 2019 by delivering three additional cohorts, with participation of 10 to 15 municipalities in each cohort.
The cohort will provide participants an opportunity to:
- Learn about the basics of asset management
- Learn how to implement asset management processes into municipal operations and decision making
- Develop an asset management policy and strategy
- Develop an internal asset management team
There is no fee to participate in the cohort, although participating municipalities will be responsible for related travel costs. Cohorts will be organized on a regional basis to minimize travel requirements.
Although the cohorts are targeted towards municipalities with limited or no asset management progress, all municipalities are welcome to apply. Participants will be selected in part based on their current level of asset management practice and their willingness to commit to participation in the cohort for the duration of the project.
RMA encourages members to apply collaboratively with their urban neighbours, but individual applications are welcomed as well.
You can learn more information and apply to participate in the cohort online. Applications will be accepted until July 31, 2020.
