Frameworks for two regional plans released
In September 2022, Alberta Environment and Protected Areas completed engagement on the draft Surface Water Quality Management Frameworks for the North Saskatchewan Region and the Upper Athabasca Region. These regional-scale frameworks establish an approach for monitoring and managing the cumulative effects of human activities on water quality in the North Saskatchewan, Battle, and Athabasca Rivers. These frameworks were released in December 2022 and are being implemented as of January 1, 2023.
