RMA 2021 Fall Convention Fast Approaching

Registration closes November 5

The RMA 2021 Fall Convention and Tradeshow will take place November 23 – 26, 2021, at the Edmonton EXPO Centre completely in person. We look forward to welcoming our newly elected officials and greeting our returning members as we gear up for four days of an action-packed agenda.  Online registration for the 2021 Fall Convention and Tradeshow closes on November 5.

Programming Update

Convention programming is well underway, with three exciting keynote speakers on deck, including Former NHL player and metal health advocate Jordin Tootoo, communications specialist Lauren Sergy, and Manjit Minhas, entrepreneur and co-star on CBC’s Dragon’s Den.  Delegates will have the opportunity to attend workshops focused on issues ranging from rural healthcare and hydrogen to conflict management and leadership. There will also be two ministerial forums at the convention, providing members opportunity to engage directly with cabinet on key issues.

All evening events will take place at downtown facilities and complimentary shuttle buses will be provided during peak times from RMA’s preferred convention hotels for easy access to the EXPO Centre.

Board Elections

The nominations deadline for positions up for election on the RMA Board of Directors is November 8. All complete nomination packages must be submitted electronically by 4:30 pm on November 8, 2021 to RMA Returning Officer Olly Morrison at olly@RMAlberta.com.  Members interested in joining the RMA Board are encouraged to contact a current board member to gain an understanding of the level of commitment required.

COVID-19 Protocols

The Edmonton EXPO Centre is participating in the Government of Alberta’s Restriction Exemption Program.

  • To enter the facility, proof of vaccination is required in the form of the QR code available at alberta.ca/covidrecords. The QR code will be the only proof of vaccination accepted after November 15, 2021. Albertans can download, screenshot, or print it. If you do not have access to cell phones or computers, you can get a printed QR code at any registry.
  • On-site testing during the event is available for those who have not yet been vaccinated. The cost of the testing will be the responsibility of the attendee to pay. Only credit cards will be accepted.
  • Once inside the facility, face masks will be required. A face mask is a medical or non-medical mask that covers a person’s nose, mouth, and chin. The Government of Alberta does not consider face shields to be an acceptable alternative to a mask and may not be worn on their own. You may remove your masks only when eating or drinking in designated areas.
  • For more information, please read the EXPO Centre’s health and safety document.
