RMA has updated its Resolution Process Policy
As part of RMA’s governance process, the RMA Board of Directors has updated the RMA Resolution Process Policy. A full overview of the changes was presented in a July bulletin. The most notable change related to the resolution submission process is that RMA will no longer accept individual resolutions. An individual resolution is one submitted from a single member to RMA without first being debated and endorsed at an RMA district meeting. As district meetings are underway, and some have already concluded, it is important that members are aware of this change and submit resolutions for district endorsement.
Members in districts that have no more district meetings scheduled prior to the fall 2021 resolution session may work with other RMA members to have a resolution submitted at another district meeting.
It is also important to note that emergent resolutions may still be submitted by an individual municipality without district endorsement. Emergent resolutions will continue to be evaluated by the resolution committee to ensure they meet the requirements to be considered emergent before being added to the Order Paper.
