This course builds on foundations learned in Munis 101 and contributes towards a Municipal Elected Leaders Certificate
The role of elected officials is to determine the long-term goals and priorities of your municipality. Doing this effectively takes an understanding of how to separate the day-to-day from the “big picture”.
Register for the Elected Officials Education Program’s (EOEP’s) Council’s Role in Strategic Planning course to learn about the key role that strategic planning plays in building municipal sustainability. The course covers how councils can work together to set realistic goals, the basic elements of a strategic plan, how to set and assess strategic priorities, the roles of council and staff in strategic planning, and other information that will support you and your municipality in planning strategically for both the short and long-term.
The online course is delivered in October in four two-hour sessions, as follows:
- October 5, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm
- October 12, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm
- October 19, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm
- October 26, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm
