Alberta Environment and Parks is hosting two engagement sessions on Extended Producer Responsibility
The Government of Alberta is currently working on developing an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework that will create province-wide industry-led systems for managing single-use plastics, packaging, and paper products, as well as hazardous and special products like household pesticides and solvents.
Alberta Environment and Parks (AEP) is hosting two additional engagement sessions for municipalities to discuss specific elements of a regulated EPR framework for Alberta. AEP has forwarded invites for these sessions to the municipalities that participated in the EPR engagements in Spring 2021 but is opening the invite for other interested municipalities to attend. The engagement sessions will be held on December 6 and December 10 both at 9:30 – 11:30 am. The two engagement sessions will cover the same material so it is only necessary to register for one.
Following the sessions, AEP will be providing participants with a survey link to provide written feedback on the engagement questions. The survey will be available until January 14, 2022.
To register for the sessions, please email Angele.Vickers@gov.ab.ca.
