Provide Input on the Alberta Wildfire Mitigation Strategy Survey

The Government of Alberta is gathering input for the development of a draft Alberta Wildfire Mitigation Strategy

In response to more frequent and extreme fire activity, Canadian wildfire management agencies are limited with what existing firefighting resources can achieve, despite increased investment and advances in wildfire response capabilities. The Canadian Council of Forest Ministers (CCFM) is developing a Canadian Wildland Fire Prevention and Mitigation Strategy (CWFPMS) to ensure greater wildfire resilience in the future. Aligning with the Pan-Canadian Strategy, Alberta is developing a draft Alberta Wildfire Mitigation Strategy (AWMS) to mitigate wildfire impacts for Albertans and is seeking stakeholder input through a survey.

The survey is available until July 3, and will take between 10 to 15 minutes to complete. The RMA is also monitoring for other opportunities to participate in the development of the AWMS and will update members if future opportunities emerge.
