Petition to Government of Canada Requesting Tax Credits for Volunteer Citizens on Patrol Open for Signature

An e-petition calling on the Government of Canada to extend a $3000 tax credit to volunteer citizens on Patrol is now open for signature on the Government of Canada’s website. The petition calls for a tax credit similar to that currently available to volunteer fire fighters and search and rescue volunteers, to be applied to citizens on patrol. This may act as a way to better support current citizens on patrol and as an incentive for those who may be interested in volunteering.

The petition, endorsed by Bow River MP Martin Shields, will be open for signature until July 12, 2018. To sign the petition, click here.
