The Board of Directors Forum will provide elected officials from RMA’s full member municipalities with an opportunity to ask the RMA Board of Directors questions about any relevant topics or issues.
As a member-driven organization, RMA places significant value on operating transparently and communicating regularly with member municipalities. To further grow in both areas, the RMA Board of Directors will be hosting “Between Two Burning Barrels: RMA Board of Directors Forum” to allow elected officials from full RMA member municipalities to ask questions on any topic or issue relevant to the RMA’s advocacy or business services work. Logistical details of the forum are as follows:
- Date: Tuesday, March 18, 2025
- Time: 4:30 – 5:30pm
- Location: Edmonton Convention Center, Hall D
To allow discussions to be as open and transparent as possible, the forum is open only to elected officials and staff from RMA full member municipalities. For all other convention delegates, convention programming will conclude at 4:30pm on March 18. Individuals not wearing their nametag to verify that they are an RMA full member elected official or employee may not be permitted to enter the session.
To allow time for as many questions as possible, the amount of time to ask a question will be limited to one minute, with an opportunity for a follow-up question if needed. While difficult questions are welcome, members are expected to maintain a professional approach to questions and recognize that board members may not be able to provide immediate answers to highly specific questions. RMA staff from all departments will be present to connect with members if more information or follow-up is required.
