The $15 million Climate Change Adaptation Program is now accepting proposals
The Honorable Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Natural Resources, has launched a call for proposals for project funding through the Climate Change Adaptation Program. This program aims to:
- Support decision-makers in identifying and implementing adaptation actions
- Enhance adaptation knowledge and skills among Canada’s workforce
- Increase access to climate change adaptation tools and resources
The program will fund the development of tools and resources on topics such as adaptation skills, economics, natural resource sectors, and emerging adaptation issues.
Eligible recipients consist of for-profit and not-for-profit organizations including provincial, territorial, regional, and municipal governments. Any projects requesting less than $150,000 of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) funding will not be considered. The Government of Canada may fund up to 60% of the total project costs, with the exception of Indigenous organizations, governments, communities, and territorial governments, where the NRCan may fund up to 100% of the eligible costs.
Virtual information sessions will be held on July 18, 2023, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm EDT. More information and application details can be found on the NRCan website. The deadline to apply is September 22, 2023.
