One of three courses currently open for registration.
Municipal financial processes underpin everything a councillor does. Want to improve social programs? Attract new development? Reduce solid waste? Engage citizens? The success of these initiatives depends on a solid understanding of available resources. AUMA and RMA are pleased to launch a brand new Elected Officials Education Program (EOEP) course on Municipal Corporate Planning and Finance that will help elected officials better achieve these goals by developing financial understanding.
Register today to learn about the fundamentals of municipal budgets and beyond on Tuesday, September 25 in Red Deer ahead of AUMA’s convention (there is no need to attend the full convention in order to register for the course).
This course was developed in response to feedback received from participants of Munis 101, which indicated the skills they most need to build are financial, specifically budgeting and interpreting financial statements. The course will provide municipal elected officials an understanding the factors impacting municipal financial issues and their roles and responsibilities in financial planning, budgeting, and decision-making. In addition to Municipal Corporate Planning and Finance, two other courses are open for registration:
