The Elected Officials Education Program (EOEP), a joint venture of the AAMDC and AUMA, is Alberta’s only professional education program designed for municipally elected officials.
In order to become more accessible to elected officials, the EOEP has begun to work with individual or groups of municipalities to offer courses locally. This can provide many benefits, including:
- Reduced travel costs
- Reduced time commitments
- Scheduling a course at a time that works for all councillors
- An opportunity for municipalities to select a course of their choice
- An opportunity to integrate local or regional examples into course discussions
