Having trouble developing your Intermunicipal Collaboration Framework?

The Municipal Government Act requires all municipalities that share a common boundary to adopt Intermunicipal Collaboration Framework bylaws by April 1, 2020

RMA, in partnership with AUMA and Alberta Municipal Affairs, developed and delivered the Intermunicipal Collaboration Framework (ICF) Workbook. This tool was created to assist municipalities work with their neighbours to partner on ICFs. The workbook is designed for elected officials, senior administrators, facilitators, and mediators to support the development of an ICF bylaw, and outlines an example process for negotiation and adoption. RMA is interested in hearing from members, as we recognize that municipalities across Alberta are diverse in terms of their capacities, geographies, and individual circumstances. The requirements for ICFs will take time and dedication; we would like to know, did the workbook help you? With your feedback, we hope to learn what challenges you may experiencing so we can work to fill the gaps. Please email your thoughts to allison@RMAlberta.com.
