GroupSource, one of RMA Benefits’ suppliers serving member municipalities and organizations across Alberta, has stepped forward to provide relief for members amid the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic that has significantly altered day-to-day operations and routines for many.
While many benefits providers were still debating the best way forward, GroupSource was among the first to offer members a 15% reduced premium, setting a trend that other providers soon followed. GroupSource since increased this relief to 55 – 60% on insured dental premiums for the months of April and May, making it the longest-running offer of its kind.
This relief has been provided to members completely at GroupSource’s expense, and members will not be asked to make up for it in the future.
“We realize that everyone is dealing with an extremely difficult and uncertain situation right now,” said Scott Smith, Regional Director at GroupSource. “We are pleased to provide this support to our subscribers to hopefully help reduce the number of challenges they are facing.”
RMA Benefits was established by the Rural Municipalities of Alberta in partnership with Lane Quinn Benefits Consultants as a way to help municipalities procure health benefits solutions that fit their unique mandates. “Municipalities serve their communities, and we want to make sure that those staff are also taken care of,” said Jeff Nichol, Manager of Benefits with the RMA. “We are proud to be partnered with suppliers like GroupSource who share that vision.”
Organizations with benefits programs through GroupSource don’t need to take any action to receive the relief on their premiums; the changes will be reflected automatically on the billing side.
