A public engagement survey to gather feedback, ideas, and solutions to help inform the design and delivery of permanent public transit funding is now open
The Government of Canada is seeking input on public transit funding in order to develop permanent funding for sustainable transit networks throughout the country. The federal government has developed a series of questions with an accompanying paper to explore topics such as housing and the environment, as they relate to public transit. This survey seeks to understand how to make funding effective for its partners, stakeholders, and the public. While transit is typically viewed as an urban issue, the survey process is seeking input from rural stakeholders on how to design a funding approach that is flexible enough to support transit in both large cities and rural areas.
Municipalities and individuals are encouraged to fill out the survey, which will close on September 30, 2022.
