Government of Alberta Opens Abuse Reporting Line

The new line allows Albertans to access resources and referrals if they suspect someone is being abused

The Government of Alberta has expanded the Alberta Supports Contact Centre (ASCC) with the inclusion of a provincial centralized abuse line. Albertans who suspect abuse or neglect of fellow Albertans now have the ability to voice their concerns to a direct contact by calling 1-855-4HELPAB.

Callers will receive information on resources, services, and referrals. If the suspected victim currently accesses community and social services support, a ministry employee will contact the client to offer further support.

RMA encourages members to share this information through local family and community support services, and with other community organizations. For more information on the service and incidents of abuse in Alberta, click here.
