Community Conserve is a web-based, capacity-building, and fund-pooling tool created by the Miistakis Institute and Environmental Law Centre with support from RMA and AUMA. Alberta municipalities can use Community Conserve to access well-researched environment and conservation information, share ideas, and pool resources. Recently, Community Conserve has been streamlined and its new focus will be building a resource library based on the needs that are most important to municipalities. The renovated Community Conserve has three components:
- Resource Library – the new focus, with a 200% increase in environment and conservation information.
- Ideas Forum – a forum for municipal personnel to post environment and conservation ideas, and to vote on those that resonate.
- Resource Pooling – municipalities can still use Community Conserve to pool funding for joint projects.
The goal of Community Conserve remains to support municipalities in their environment and conservation work. It will continue to be free to use.
