Sessions will share information on tax policy relevant to municipalities
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is partnering with the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) -Alberta to provide information to municipalities. Registration is now open for a series of four webinars:
- Introduction for Municipalities, November 17, 2022
- Taxable and Exempt Salaries, January 19, 2023
- Input Tax Credits – Capital Real Property and Capital Personal Property, February 16, 2023
- Public Service Bodies’ Rebate, March 16, 2023
Each of these sessions starts at 10:00 am and will run for one hour, except for the November session, which will last 90 minutes. Registration is free for all sessions.
These webinars will be hosted by Michael Monk, who has been an employee of CRA for more than 30 years. During that time, he has worked extensively with GST / HST. Michael was a Team Leader and Sr. Analyst for over 10 years in GST / HST Rulings, Legislative Policy, and Regulatory Affairs Branch and spent numerous years working in various auditing roles within the Compliance Programs Branch. Michael has also spent several more years as a CRA Facilitator writing, reviewing, and instructing numerous GST / HST Legislation and Audit courses to CRA staff.
