Yesterday, the Government of Alberta tabled Bill 21: Modernized Municipal Government Act in the Legislature. This legislation is the result of over three years of consultations with municipalities and other stakeholders across the province. For an overview of the proposed changes, click here.
Additionally, to inform members and prepare them for the upcoming consultations led by the Government of Alberta, the AAMDC is holding a series of workshops across the province. These workshops will also allow members to provide the AAMDC with input on the proposed changes so that the AAMDC can advocate on their behalf as well as to prepare for the government consultations.
