The RMA Board of Directors has approved changes to RMA’s Resolutions Process Policy
Resolutions are crucial to providing members with a direct voice in determining the RMA’s advocacy priorities. While the most visible portion of the resolution process takes place during the debate and voting session at RMA conventions, the full process includes a role for municipalities, districts, and the RMA Board of Directors and staff.
The full RMA resolutions process is guided by RMA’s Resolutions Process Policy. The RMA Board of Directors reviews the policy every two years, which often leads to amendments. The policy was recently reviewed, which resulted in minor changes in several areas.
The RMA has developed a short guide that provides an overview of the changes. RMA Resolutions Committee Chair and Vice President Kara Westerlund will also be leading a member webinar to explain the changes and answer any questions. Details are as follows:
- Tuesday, January 9, 2024
- 10:00 – 11:00 am
- To join: https://rmalberta.zoom.us/j/85048066674?pwd=bjZmeW1iWjl1YnFlbXovQXdRbG5BQT09
Registration is not required for the webinar, simply use the link above to join. The webinar will be recorded and will be shared with members through Contact. Note that an identical webinar was held on December 20, 2023.
The RMA encourages members to review the guide and attend the webinar to learn more. Any questions about the changes can be directed to RMA Director of External Relations and Advocacy Wyatt Skovron at wyatt@RMAlberta.com.
