Application Deadline for Charitable Gaming Model Committee Extended

To ensure that all members have adequate time to complete the required application process, the AAMDC has extended the application deadline for the Charitable Gaming Model Committee to 4:00pm on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.

This committee will develop recommendations related to the charitable gaming model to ensure the model is equitable to rural based organizations that are reliant, at least in part, on the revenues of charitable gaming. The committee’s formation fulfills the action requested in resolution 13-17F: AAMDC Advisory Committee to Support the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission in Reviewing Charitable Gaming in Alberta.

This advisory committee will be comprised of one elected official from each of AAMDC’s five districts, and chaired by a member of the AAMDC Board of Directors. Please make note of the remuneration outlined in the attached terms of reference, as member municipalities are responsible for any applicable per diem costs.

The AAMDC will also invite one elected official from the AUMA’s Small Communities Committee and one AUMA staff member to sit on the committee, as this is an issue that impacts both rural and small urban municipalities across Alberta.

Applications are now being accepted and can be received either directly from members or from their municipalities. Members interested in participating in this committee are requested to include:

  • A completed application form (attached)
  • A brief resume
  • A letter from your municipality indicating support for your involvement in this committee, acknowledging that your municipality will cover any resulting per diem costs.

Complete application packages are to be submitted to Wyatt Skovron at wyatt.skovron@aamdc.com by Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 4:00pm.

The AAMDC Board will select committee members based on applications received and notify successful committee members as soon as possible.
