All-Terrain Crane Pilot Project Update Webinar Recording Available

Crane Rental Association of Canada is seeking an amendment to pilot project from Alberta Transportation

The Crane Rental Association of Canada (CRAC) hosted a webinar presentation regarding the two-year All-Terrain Cranes Pilot Project. CRAC is currently seeking an amendment with Alberta Transportation and hosted a webinar to demonstrate the importance of this request.

CRAC is asking to limit the current pilot project to:

  • 3, 4, and 5 axle cranes.
  • Allow these cranes to operate with dollies at the permitted pilot project weights.

This will restrict larger cranes (6,7, and 8 axle) to the current legislated weight restrictions.

CRAC believes that restricting the pilot project to 3, 4, and 5 axle all-terrain cranes with dollies will focus the pilot. At the end of the pilot project, the larger 6 and 7 axle all-terrain cranes will be assessed and could be included in review of the current legislation.

The webinar recording can be viewed online.
