Alberta Municipal Affairs, as part of the ongoing review of the
Municipal Government Act, has released the growth management board regulations. The two regulations are referred to as:
These regulations apply to the two growth management boards that will provide planning and growth direction in the metropolitan areas around the City of Calgary and the City of Edmonton.
The regulations, seen
here, vary slightly but provide details regarding the boards’:
- Membership
- Mandate
- Requirements
- Voting
- Powers
- Growth Plans
- Regional Servicing Plans
The AAMDC has compiled the details of each regulation into a briefing
here.
The deadline for feedback on these two regulations is
October 2, 2017. Alberta Municipal Affairs has developed a survey for each regulation which can be found
here for the
Edmonton Metropolitan Region Board Regulation and
here for the
Calgary Metropolitan Region Board Regulation.
