Alberta Environment and Parks release new resource on recreation on Crown land
Alberta Environment and Parks (AEP) has released Alberta’s Guide to Outdoor Recreation on Provincial Crown Land that provides valuable information about outdoor recreation on Crown land. Alberta’s Crown land is a resource that hosts spectacular landscapes that support economic and tourist opportunities for Canadians. However, it is important that Albertans practice responsible, respectful, and lawful recreation on Crown land as it is vital habitat for numerous species. Crown land also plays an important role in the treaty rights of Indigenous peoples.
The guide outlines rules for using Crown land and provides resources and tips that will promote safety and preparedness among those who recreate on Crown land.
For more information, please contact AEP’s Lands Division, Outdoor Recreation Team at OutdoorRecreation@gov.ab.ca.
