Alberta Health Services has a new Seniors and Continuing Care Provincial Advisory Council and are seeking members. Applications are currently being accepted.
Continuing care includes home care, supportive living, long term care, hospice and end of life care for anyone at any age who requires additional support. These services can be offered in a home or community setting or in a facility, depending on the level of care required.
Advisory Council membership offers volunteers an opportunity to provide a broad, system-wide perspective on seniors and continuing care services from across the province.
The council consists of up to 15 volunteer members, all of whom should be:
- Experienced with and passionate about seniors’ health and continuing care related services;
- Eager to engage members of their community to share their wisdom about what health care services are working well, and where improvements can be made;
- Interested in participating in dialogue with AHS that will lead to creative solutions to health care services across Alberta.
Interested Albertans over the age of 18 are asked to submit an expression of interest form, available online here. For further enquiries please call 1-877-275-8830, or email community.engagement@ahs.ca.
The deadline for submissions is September 22, 2017.
