AGLC Reviewing Public Special Event Policy

Deadline for Input is September 28

The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC) is requesting stakeholder and public input into a review of the Public Special Event Policy. The review is focusing on resale special event licensing and the modernization of the current approach to approving resale special event licenses for organizations holding events selling liquor. The proposed policy shift would move away from the current requirement that community or commercial events fit into specific categories to receive a license, and instead take a risk-based approach to approving resale special event licenses.

The consultation guide includes an overview of the current policy, the recommended modernized approach, and several discussion questions that interested stakeholders may complete to shape their input.

Input can be submitted by email to policy@aglc.ca. The deadline for submissions is September 28, 2018.
