The AAMDC and Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (AUMA) have jointly received funding for the development of asset management capacity-building workshops for municipalities across the province. This initiative is offered through the Municipal Asset Management Program (MAMP), which is delivered by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) and funded by the Government of Canada. The AAMDC and AUMA are pleased to have received the funding, which reflects a joint commitment between the Government of Canada, FCM, and Alberta’s municipal associations to prioritize asset management.

The AAMDC and AUMA are in the early project development stages and cannot share program details at this time; however, what is known is that asset management capacity-building workshops will be offered in locations throughout the province during the first half of 2018. They will be targeted towards municipal elected officials and senior administration and will focus on the strategic elements of asset management. Infrastructure and Asset Management Alberta (IAMA) received MAMP funding as well, and will be developing similar workshops geared towards municipal asset management practitioners, with a focus on the technical aspects of asset management implementation.
