Shift Supervisor – BCF

Summary

Town of Drumheller is recruiting for a Shift Supervisor to join our Team at the Badlands Community Center.

The Badlands Community Facility (BCF) is a community gem with two floors of fitness equipment, a full-size fieldhouse, meeting rooms, banquet halls and library to service the many community needs and events.  With hundreds of active members and a long list of community user groups, we require an enthusiastic, well organized, detail oriented, multi-tasker to join our team to deliver excellent customer service to the public.

Hours / Week: 40 hours/week (averaged over a 3 week rotation consisting of day, evening and weekend shifts)

Pay Scale:       $25.09 to $30.92/hour

Benefits:          As per the Town’s HR Policy and CUPE 4604 Collective Agreement.

Key Responsibilities

Position Summary:   This position is responsible for training, leading and supervising activity specialists through the daily duties at the BCF. They must have a keen eye for detail and support the facilitation of programs, events and activities by leading and directing staff in the set up and take down of program/event areas, while also providing technical support and exceptional customer service.

Requirements

Education and Experience: 

  • Grade 12 or equivalent required
  • Preference will be given to those with post secondary education in recreation, hospitality, tourism or equivalent discipline
  • 3-5 years experience in a supervisory role
  • Able to perform all duties with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 25lbs on a day to day basis
  • Work effectively with variable work loads
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a valid First Aid/CPR certificate
  • Must be able to provide a satisfactory current Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
