The Police Clerk (Electronic Voice Entry (E.V.E.) Assistant) provides administrative and operational support services on a rotating shift basis to on-duty RCMP officers, utilizes various RCMP computer software programs to provide information, process files and perform maintenance on investigation files.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the RCMP General Duty watch members to monitor, input, retrieve, review, link, scan, audit, and update all operational occurrences as they occur; once police have attended, ensuring they are accurate and meet RCMP audit standards
  • Receive calls, create and distribute operational files on investigations which members are currently dealing with when required, including the preparation of court packages and pre charge packages
  • Monitor email queues for member requests, warrants, disclosure and release documents
  • Prepare and complete Police Access Tool (PAT) ticketing and update all necessary information on the collision report (TSS’s)
  • Assist with adding, modifying, removing and messaging on CPIC
  • Complete Child Family Services and Victim Services unit referrals on behalf of investigators
  • Assist Court/File Management, Municipal Police Assistants and other areas in the detachment as required

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School Diploma with 3 years of related experience (policing experience is preferred)
  • Post-secondary education or certificate in Emergency Communications and Response would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of Criminal Code, Municipal Bylaws, Traffic Safety Act and Provincial Statutes
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), combined with good judgement, tact and discretion
  • Strong time management and decision-making skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in RCMP software programs (i.e. PROS, CPIC, JOIN/2.0, CIIDS, eCollision, ROADS) and completion of RCMP PROS End User Course and PROS IM is preferred

Conditions of Employment

  • Ability to obtain RCMP Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance
  • Availability to work shift work (working 12-hour shifts with a combination of days/nights)
