As our preferred candidate, you will have:
- Related university undergraduate degree such as Environmental Management, Business Management, Recreation Administration, or Planning.
- Coursework or certification in Horticulture, Planning, Finance, Landscape Design or Environment Management would be an asset.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a parks management and program service delivery that must include demonstrated innovation, financial and staff management achievements.
- Experience in senior management in a Parks & Public Works delivery system with a demonstrated ability to put together successful delivery teams and to facilitate community development approach to service delivery.
- Supervisory experience in a diverse and fast paced environment with changing priorities.
- Thorough knowledge of Arboriculture, Ecology, Biodiversity & Reclamation.
- Good judgment in making decisions
- Able to work independently and as part of a committed team.
- Demonstrated communication skills, including ability to speak and write effectively.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish relationships and act with respect and integrity.
- Knowledge of computer systems such as MS Office 365 including JD Edwards, GIS software and other relevant software.
