Summary

Working Title: Member Outreach Representative
Department: Business Services
Reports To: Manager of Business Development

Purpose

The Member Outreach Representative (MOR) position will be accountable for driving business growth for the Canoe Procurement Group of Canada. Working in tandem with the Client Relations team, the MOR will provide leads by contacting prospective members to provide education on our trade compliant programs. 

In addition, the Member Outreach Representative will have their own portfolio to manage, consisting of existing members in their assigned regions. MORs provide regularly scheduled, consistent contact with their assigned members to ensure their procurement needs are met, educate them on existing and new program offerings through Canoe, and provide guidance on any questions our members may have.

Location: This candidate must reside and work within the province of Ontario.  This is a fully remote role, with the occasional travel required.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relations

  • Member outreach as directed by the Manager of Business Development
  • Targeted areas of opportunity as identified by client relations team
  • Working closely with our partner associations to add value to their member base
  • Promoting supplier offerings as released by our 200+ partners across Canada
  • Create target lists by province and or association
  • Manage leads in CRM
  • Call reporting as required
  • Prepare and present activity reports

Supplier Relations

  • Developing strong working relationships with all levels of supplier management. Promoting all new program opportunities as released.
  • Understanding of program administrative fees and requirements

Accounting

  • Assist in account creation as required
  • Assist accounting in reconciling accounts as required

Requirements

SKILLS/EXPERTISE REQUIRED:

  • Experience working in a professional sales environment.
  • High proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, CRM, and Adobe Acrobat is essential.
  • Excellent written, oral, and listening communication skills, and exceptional organizational and planning skills.
  • Bilingual in English and French would be an asset
  • Personable and able to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Aptitude for dealing with members and suppliers.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, self-motivated, and self-directed.
  • Manages multiple priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment while able to quickly analyze problems to reach a conclusion.
  • Expects the highest quality performance from self and others.
  • Able to and enjoy working in a team environment including keeping others appropriately informed.
  • Proficiency in data entry

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education:
Post-secondary degree/diploma in business, accounting or a related discipline or applicable work experience and training.

Contacts:
Works alongside other Member Outreach Representatives, Client Relations team, Supplier Relations team and the Manager of Business Development.
