Position Summary:
The Manager of Technical Services is responsible for ensuring that both short and long-term infrastructure needs of the County are met. This is accomplished through accurate monitoring and maintenance of current facilities, and through accurate planning of future system improvements and upgrades based upon projected development or legislative changes. This includes:
- Overseeing the County’s infrastructure life-cycle replacement program.
- Supporting the County’s Planning and Development team by providing technical input and content into the County’s planning policies and, as required, providing other technical support related to planning and development activities within the County.
- Providing project and contract management for all County capital infrastructure projects, and providing general project and contract management support for other departments within the County as required,
- Overseeing the operations and maintenance of the County’s utility services and infrastructure (water, wastewater, and stormwater systems).
- Overseeing the operations and maintenance of County-owned buildings and other facilities.
The Manager of Technical Services has the following direct reports: Utility Operator Foreman, Project Manager (2), and Facilities Supervisor.
