The education required for this position is a degree in business, economic development, urban and regional planning, or an equivalent discipline is required, supplemented with a professional designation in economic development. Five (5) years of relevant experience is required, preferably in a municipal setting.
This position requires strong leadership skills and superior communication, report writing and presentation skills. Proficiency in project management, the ability to synthesize and analyze data, and the use of relevant software, and economic development tools and resources are required. A good understanding and knowledge of municipal government and rural communities is a strong asset.
The ideal candidate will be highly-motivated, self-directed, and enthusiastic, with a positive, can-do attitude; and enjoy working in a collaborative, fast-paced, and deadline-oriented environment.
A criminal records check and a drivers’ abstract check satisfactory to Leduc County are conditions of employment.
