Completion of a bachelor degree in a related field along with a minimum 10 years of progressively responsible and diversified experience in the realm of strategic recreational and community support planning, project management and community leadership. Demonstrated knowledge of a municipal government organization and recreation facility management.
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, mentoring, team building, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong understanding of change management methodologies to support the implementation of County priorities within the diverse communities across the County.
- Demonstrated project management ability including the ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong business/technical writing skills.
- Demonstrated time management, organizational, problem solving and decision-making ability.
- Strong skills in public engagement with a diverse audience, professional platform mechanics and presentation style. Ability to hold audience attention and encourages audience engagement.
- Well-developed communication and interpretation skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Enthusiastic about working inter-departmentally and across County service areas to solve problems.
- Ability to exercise judgment, initiative, and creativity in an increasingly complex environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively across different levels and influence stakeholders.
- Demonstrated superior customer service skills to both internal and external customers.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license.
- Evening and weekend work may be required occasionally.
