Excellent organizational and time management skills in order to work successfully under the pressure of changing priorities, time limitations and other constraints. The ability to maintain confidentiality regarding matters which affect the municipality, strong writing skills and a high degree of accuracy in word processing, as well as strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment with limited supervision.
- Certificate or diploma in Office Administration, Legal Assistant or equivalent, with formal training or demonstrated experience in the art of minute taking
- 3-5 years of municipal government experience or 3-5 years of senior secretarial/administrative experience
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs
- Experience working with Councils, Boards and Committees is preferred
- Working knowledge of parliamentary procedures
- Courses in Local Government Administration and membership in Alberta Municipal Clerks’ Association would be an asset
