What YOU Bring:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Standard First Aid and CPR; WHMIS
- Class 5 Driver’s license
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate computer skills
- Ability to meet the shift requirement: shifts rotate seven days a week
- Ability to meet the physical requirements, including ability to lift heavy equipment and materials up to 23 kilograms (50 lbs.), adhering to long periods of standing and sitting, working in all weather conditions, etc.
- A clear criminal record check
- A driver’s abstract that demonstrates responsible and safe driving behavior
- Adhere to all safety standards and promote the organization’s health and safety program
- Keep detailed, accurate records in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Work and communicate effectively with the Operations team, management, other city departments, and residents
- Equivalencies may be considered
What WE love for YOU to have:
- Parks & Sports Field Operator 1 and 2
- Q endorsement (or willing to obtain with in 60 days of hire)
- Class 3 Drivers License with air brake endorsement
- Complementary certifications related to the job duties, such as: Arboriculture Technician Certificate/ISA Certification, Landscape Gardener Certification, Pesticide Applicators License
- Applicable training: Small engine mechanics training, Chainsaw operations, Ground worker operations, Tree Felling, Tree Pest and Disease Management, Pruning, Barricading, Flagman, Fall Protection, Electrical Awareness, and WHMIS
- Experience with City works or other service request tracking software
What WE Offer:
- A 6-month term salary range of $47,008.00 – $61,339.20 per annum (based on experience and qualifications)
- Up to a 40-hour work week (some evening and weekend work will be required)
- Membership to the Beaumont Sport and Recreation Centre
