What will you do?
As a Fitness Instructor with the City of Leduc, you’ll deliver high-quality aquatic fitness classes and promote safe, fun, and engaging workouts. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Creating appropriate and engaging class plans aligned with participant needs and program goals
- Arriving early for equipment setup and staying available for participant questions before and after class
- Delivering dynamic classes with modifications (progressions/regressions) to suit all levels
- Providing continuous instruction, cues, and safety monitoring throughout sessions
- Maintaining participant safety and proper form execution, adjusting exercises as needed
- Demonstrating excellent customer service and representing the City of Leduc positively
- Building relationships with class members and being knowledgeable about other LRC programs and services
Who you are?
You’re a positive, energetic instructor with a passion for helping others move well, feel strong, and stay safe. You enjoy working with adult and older adult populations and thrive in an aquatic group fitness setting. You have:
- Minimum 18 years of age
- AFLCA Aquatic Exercise Specialty Certification (or equivalent)
- Standard First Aid with CPR-C certification
- Comfort working in and around aquatic environments, including shallow and deep water
- Ability to lead from the pool deck and provide clear instruction to large groups
Preferred:
- 6+ months experience teaching group fitness, ideally in a municipal setting
- Additional certifications (e.g., CSEP-CPT, NCCP, Zumba, mind/body, physical literacy) considered an asset
