Requirements:
The successful candidate will have, at minimum, a diploma in social services and/or human services discipline, with a solid understanding of childhood development and the needs of parents, children and families is preferred. Integrated Strategies for Home Visitation, Suicide Intervention, Mental Health First Aid and Standard First Aid are assets.
The ideal candidate must have a minimum of three years’ experience working one-on-one with individuals and families, as well as working in partnerships with a variety of agencies. Experience working with a diverse population that may be experiencing mental health, poverty, homelessness and/or addictions issues. Knowledge of housing, employment, social services and supportive agencies. Training in PICCOLO, Great Kids, Triple P, Circle of Security, and Nobody’s Perfect would be considered an asset. Experience in Emergency Social Services is an asset.
The successful candidate must be willing to provide a clean Child Intervention Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check as part of the hiring process. Must also have a vehicle and be willing to work flexible hours that may include evenings and weekends.
