- Post-secondary diploma in a related discipline (Marketing, Administration, Hospitality, ) or other related area of study strongly preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible event planning experience
- Experience planning a variety of events of various sizes and types
- Exceptional writing and strong verbal communications skills are essential
- High proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and familiarity with Adobe Acrobat are essential.
- Personable and able to build and maintain professional relationships
- Excellent listening skills
- Anticipate and seize opportunities to implement improved practices and procedures
- Ability to work closely with a team
- Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment and quickly analyzing problems to reach a resolution
- Able to work with minimal supervision, self-motivated and self-directed
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities to effectively meet multiple deadlines.
- Willing and able to travel in support of events if required.
- Extended work required on occasion due to special events that begin well before the workday, and may extend into the evening.
