Parkland County has a temporary, full-time Equipment Operator III position available with the Engineering Services Department, working approximately May until the end of October.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Reporting to the Construction Foreman, you will be required to assist in the delivery of Road Construction Projects throughout the County by operating primarily excavators in addition to a variety of moderately complex pieces of equipment. You may also be required to act as a leadhand directing, instructing, supervising and participating in the required work, as well performing a variety of labour related duties.
This position is covered by the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Union No. 955 Collective Agreement.
Completion of a recognized training program in the operation of specialized heavy equipment.
Three years’ experience operating a variety of medium to heavy duty equipment used in road construction that includes but is not limited to: excavators with attachments, crawler tractors with attachments, backhoes, front end loaders, skid steers, and graders.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to deal with the public.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License. Upon hire, a current Driver’s Abstract must be provided.
