POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Director of Finance is responsible for leading and ensuring effective financial management and governance for the City of Spruce Grove. The Director steers financial operations, champions fiscal responsibility, and drives strategic financial planning. This is achieved by providing strategic fiscal policy advice, crafting robust financial processes and systems that support strong fiscal oversight and well-run financial operations. This position leads by developing financial strategies, long term financial plans, and related metrics that enables the City’s strategies and objectives to be achieved.
Through on-going development and monitoring of the financial management system of the organization, the Director of Finance ensures the preservation and stewardship of the City’s financial assets, debt, and timely reporting of complete and accurate financial plans. The position often presents to Council and Corporate Leadership Team on financial matters and is a credible source of financial information for these groups.
This position reports to the General Manager of Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
This is a full-time permanent position with a salary range of $155,241.00 – $178,578.40.
