When emergencies strike, who do you call? The Protective Services team! Day in and day out, rain or shine, they’re the first responders ensuring our residents are taken care of. Whether they’re fighting fires, upholding the law, or lending a helping hand in times of need, the Protective Services team is dedicated to keeping Beaumont safe and secure. Reporting to the Supervisor, Municipal Enforcement, the Community Peace Officer Level 1 (CPO 1) is responsible for responding to and investigating complaints within the City that involve the enforcement of Municipal Bylaws and Provincial Statutes. The primary responsibilities of the CPO 1 are a balance of Bylaw Enforcement, Traffic Enforcement, and Animal Control duties. The ideal candidate must demonstrate sound judgment, combined with strong ethics and the ability to handle sensitive or private information. Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as outstanding public relations, de-escalation and problem-solving skills are required for this role.
