Summary

We are hiring for multiple positions, including both permanent and temporary openings.

Key Responsibilities

The Community Peace Officer protects County infrastructure through the enforcement of identified provincial statutes and municipal bylaws and provides community education and engagement.

The Community Peace Officer has delegated authority from the Solicitor General and Clearwater County Council.

Requirements

Completed law enforcement program at a recognized post-secondary institute (degree or diploma level)
Police Tactical Training
Officer Safety Training
Working knowledge of provincial and federal legislation, including Traffic Safety Act
Valid PARE physical testing (under 4:45)

Preferred Assets:

2 – 5 years of experience working with enforcement and compliance of public legislation, traffic enforcement, commercial vehicle safety and rural bylaw enforcement
Experience working with municipal governments
Completed Provincial Peace Officer training program
Commercial Vehicle Knowledge
Certification in:
- Radar/laser/lidar
- OC spray, ASP baton
- Investigations
- Court Proceedings and Protocols
- Warrant apprehension
ICS 200 [asset], ICS 300
Current First Aid/CPR certification is desired
Working alone safety
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certification
