Temporary, Full time - 35 hours / week
$25.22 – $31.54 / hourly

We are currently recruiting for a temporary, full time Community Development Assistant.
About the Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, Community Development, this position plays a key role in contributing towards creating a vibrant, dynamic and enriching community. This position supports the department in liaison, facilitator and resource to planning signature events, community engagement and community building initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Support/assist civic events throughout term (Canada Day, Rock the Rails, Party in Alexandra Park);
Work with Volunteer Leduc program and database;
Liaise with non-profit groups and board development opportunities; and
Assist with the planning and engagement of community development projects throughout term.
You are the successful candidate for this position if you have the following:
Enrollment in a college/university degree or diploma in related field of study preferred: Community Development, Events Management, Community/Culture Programming.
Minimum of two-years’ related experience. Previous Municipal or local government experience is an asset.
Possess valid Class 5 driver’s license.
Possess a current First Aide / CPR certificate.
Excellent team player, with the ability to work independently on several projects simultaneously.
Excellent time management, project manage and problem solving skills.
Must be willing to provide a current Criminal Records Check-Vulnerable Sector at own expense.
Must be fully immunized against COVID-19 and be willing to provide proof of immunization, or provide written approved exemption on the basis of a protected ground under the AB Human Rights Act.
