The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of the Municipal District of Pincher Creek No. 9 retired recently and an experienced Interim CAO has been in place to provide continuity and support Council’s goal of an efficient and effective transition to a permanent appointment. Council now invites applications from suitably qualified and interested individuals to fill the permanent position.

Among Council’s current priorities are continuing to develop its responses to changes in the Municipal Government Act (MGA), such as intermunicipal collaboration framework (ICF) components and addressing new financial and capital planning standards; further strengthening emergency services delivery and recalibrating a number of internal practices.
Located on the Rocky Mountain Front (eastern edge of the Canadian Rockies) in scenic southwestern Alberta, the Municipal District of Pincher Creek No. 9 has a population of nearly 3000 people living in the countryside and covers a land area of 3,482.05 k2. The economy is driven primarily by energy production and agriculture.
